Congolese women in exile: rebuilding far from home

Women’s exile carries specific wounds: separated families, loneliness, safety, dignity and reconstruction.

Cellule Analyse📅 September 18, 2024⏱️ 8 min

Congolese women in exile often carry invisible responsibilities.

Some leave alone, others with children, sometimes after violence, pressure or family breakdown.

Arriving in Europe does not mean everything becomes simple. They must understand procedures, find housing, protect children and rebuild stability.

Community plays an important role, but many women also experience isolation and silence.

Telling these stories reminds us that exile does not weigh the same on everyone.
