Why archive Congolese political exile?

Without archives, exile journeys fade over time. Documenting them protects collective memory.

Political exile is often told in urgency: a departure, a threat, an asylum claim, a separation.

But over time, evidence is lost, stories scatter and individual journeys disappear from public memory.

Archiving Congolese exile means preserving dates, names, places, documents and testimonies.

It also means refusing to let suffering become invisible simply because it unfolds far from the country.

Voix d’Exil RDC seeks to contribute to this memory: cautious, sourced, human and useful to future generations.
